SPRING BREAK ART  CAMPS CANCELLATION

Dear Families,

In light of recent developments concerning COVID-19, and the measures being taken in our community, the Nanaimo Art Gallery has made the decision to cancel our spring break programs for the next two weeks. Our primary concern is the care of our visitors to the gallery and we feel that this decision is the best response to managing uncertain and developing circumstances surrounding COVID-19.

We will be contacting each family that has registered for spring break programs and will offer options for refunding your payment. In most cases we can process a refund to your credit card without you being present.

We understand that this may cause disruption in families and work schedules but protecting the health and safety of visitors, participants, staff and the larger community is our primary concern. We regret that we will not be spending this creative time with your child/ren in the next two weeks and appreciate your understanding and support of the gallery.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

Young artists are invited for art making, investigation and storytelling. These camps will feature activities inspired by the Gallery exhibition, A Generational Retrospective featuring work by award-winning artist and photographer Sandra Semchuk. We will also visit the Harbourfront Library for storytelling and the Nanaimo Museum to embark on a quest for the cadborosuarus, a sea serpent that was sighted in local waters decades ago! These stories and findings will fuel our imaginations and inspire our art projects. Led by teaching artists, we will design, draw, photograph, paint, collage, and build using traditional and contemporary approaches to art making that explore big ideas, big creatures, and big imaginations!

If your child has not attended Art Lab before, submit the registration form above first, then pay online.
